Sambhav Microfinance is a unit under Sambhav Social Service Organisation which is a society registered in July 1988 under the M.P.Societies Registration Act, 1873. Sambhav Social Service Organisation over the last two decades has been actively working in the rural and semi-urban area of Madhya Pradesh on specific issues related to women empowerment, child health, education, water & sanitation and a number of other community based development issues. The Chief functionary, Dr. S.K. Singh is well-known in the region for his long and extensive contribution towards upliftment of the Sahariya Tribe concentrated in around 9 Northern districts of Madhya Pradesh. The organisation through its diverse activity has touched base with around 1500 villages in Madhya Pradesh and parts of Uttar Pradesh. The organisation is a pioneer in formation of SHGs and has promoted more than 1000 SHG’s under various schemes including that of NABARD SHG-Bank linkage programme, Christian Aid, UN Habitat and Water Aid.

The Microfinance programme of Sambhav Social Service Organisation known as Sambhav Microfinance started its operations in Jan 2007 with initial financial support from ICICI Bank Ltd. The objective of the Sambhav Microfinance programme is to financially empower women so as to increase their acceptance and participation in community processes.

GOAL, VISION AND MISSION

Goal: To make available better financial services to those who need it for their well being, entrepreneurship, gender equity and social security especially for marginalized, backward and poverty struck community through formation of community institutions and development of leadership

Vision: Help the poor to increase income, build viable businesses, and reduce their vulnerability to external shocks and enabling the poor, especially women, to become economic agents of change

Mission: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger by providing range of services like credit, savings and insurance and work for gender equality, and major policy reform, changes to laws and regulation and allocation of financial and other resources and the promotion of changes in attitude through public debate.

TARGET GROUP
  • Women SHG groups engaged in economic activities.

  • The livelihood profile of the targeted clientele is primarily consists of agriculture, animal husbandry and few small enterprises like, grocery shops, footpath readymade garments sellers, tea stalls, cycle repair stores, beetle shops and small cosmetics shops etc.

  • Those who have some skills and are in need of money to improve their economic condition.
